It starts with hair fall gradually results in the thinning of hair. The condition of complete baldness is rare in females. When it comes to men, there are cases where men have turned bald in their late 20s.

Causes of hair loss in men and women:

Male pattern baldness:
This is one of the widely manifested forms androgenic alopecia found in most males. The main cause of such baldness is the abnormal secretion of the male sex hormone dihydrinetestosterene. The rate of secretion of this sex hormone may vary from person to person. It has been seen that the rate of secretion increases with age. Excess secretion of DHT hormone blocks free flow of blood to the follicles. It inhibits the formation of new hair follicles and causes hair fall.

Deficiency of zinc, calcium and iron:

Elements like zinc, calcium and iron are quite essential for the proper hair growth. They not only nourish the hair but also makes it soft, shiny and thick. Deficiency of any of these three elements can cause disruptions in natural hair growth. Apart from these three elements, vitamin B and C are also essential to promote hair growth. Vitamin B increases the absorption rate of useful nutrients to the hair follicles and this may be the main reason for hair growth.

Pregnancy in women:

During the post pregnancy stage, the hair may fall due to improper care or imbalance in hormone secretions. The problem may appear after the delivery of child. The hairs come to resting phase during this stage and this may be the major cause of alopecia.
